“I already have a Smart Cable. Do I still need to order a Battery Replacement Kit for my Yoto Mini (2021–2023 edition)?
Yes, US Yoto Mini (2021–2023 edition) users should order a free Battery Replacement Kit. Registered owners will have received an email from Yoto with further instructions. The kit will contain a replacement battery from a new supplier, as well as the required tools and detailed instructions on how to change the battery. The new battery will remove the risk of battery overheating.
How do I know if my Yoto Mini is affected and needs a Battery Replacement Kit?
Affected units were sold between 2021 and 2023 and generally have a serial number starting 1FE-8FE. But there are exceptions to this, so please read on for the details. You can find the 14 digit serial number on the base of the unit.Yoto Minis (2024 Edition) are unaffected and do not require a Battery Replacement Kit. They have a 14-digit Serial Number that either:
starts with 9FE, or;
starts with AFE, BFE, CFE, etc. going through the letters of the alphabet, or;
starts with AVC, BVC, CVC, etc., going through the letters of the alphabet, or;
ends with a -H, or -H7, or -U, regardless of how it starts (including if they start 1FE-8FE).

Why are you offering the Battery Replacement Kit as a new remedy now?
In a small number of cases, the battery may overheat when the Yoto Mini is being charged after the battery has gone completely flat (i.e. after a prolonged period of the Yoto Mini not being used).
