Fun Hats is the country line dance group that presented HEY MISTER at the Choreographies Contest of the Renegade Honky Tonk in Mataró, Spain, in May 2019.
Despite the fact that the final classification was not good, HEY MISTER was one of the choreos more taught and danced of that contest.
HEY MISTER is a phrased choreography, with two parts. The first one has 32 counts, and the other one has 20 counts. Although there are several syncopated step-groups, this dance is not complicated to learn.
This dance was made for the song “Fake ID” by Big & Rich, along with Gretchen Wilson, that appears in the 2011 version of the movie “Footloose.”
Pay attention to the tags on the video and the step sheet. As you will see, there are some restarts that have been defined as part “a” that ends after count 16 of part A; part “a2” that ends after count eight of part A; and part “b” that ends after count eight of part B.
The final structure is:
A-A-B - A-a - A-A-B - A-b-B - A-A-A-A - a2-Stomp
You don’t need an advanced level to learn HEY MISTER successfully, it is a lot easier than you would think.
