🚨Don't panic, but Google's March Core Update means business🚨
❗️Here's what EVERYONE needs to know ⤵️
👉 It is being rolled out as we speak (official launch date March 5)
👉 It affects every site in every region
👉 So far, it's cracking down on expired domain abuse spam and scaled content
📆 It's still too early to tell how this core update will affect long-term results, but we're already seeing many reports of Google giving manual actions to sites with:
⚠️ Purely AI-written content
⚠️ Unnatural links
⚠️ Good-for-nothing spam sites (affected sites have already been deindexed 🪄)
📑 What Is Scaled Content Abuse?📄📃
Pushing out huge volumes of low-grade content (i.e. purely AI-generated pages) just to manipulate search results. I can't say I'm not surprised. Google is cracking down on what we've been warning people about for months. 🤷♂️
🏚 What Is Expired Domain Abuse? 🏚
When you buy an expired link that had some SEO authority and you load it with low-value content to try to manipulate Google.
❓What should you do❓
Unless you've blatantly violated Google's spam policies, do specific action is necessary🙅🏻♂️. This core update is still being rolled out, so it's best to wait if the dust has settled.
✨✨ But in the meantime...
1️⃣ Take ownership of AI-generated content (tweak, edit, fact-check, toss, etc.)
2️⃣ Make sure your pages meet E-E-A-T criteria
3️⃣ Add schema
4️⃣ Update your existing content
