Today marks Round 4 of the Middle of the Pack Racing League (MPRL) Cruising USA GR86 Championship for 2023 as brought to you on iRacing! We shall be taking a look back at all of the racing action which occurred on Wednesday 1st February with the aim of bringing it to you as if it were live!
In this round the Big State Cup concludes with a visit to the state of Texas for the Circuit of the Americas. More commonly referred to by the acronym of “COTA”, America’s first purpose-built Formula One circuit may only be ten years old, but it has rapidly become a highly popular venue for road racing across numerous international series. At its core is a complex sequence of 20 corners and an extremely wide road surface meaning overtaking opportunities are never too far away!
In the PRO class, James Carr has taken the lead in Jason Landry’s absence last week and holds a nine point advantage over Micah Hendricks. The odds are on Carr to secure the cup, but given Hendricks’ momentum after a stellar drive to victory last week, can he find a way to overturn the point deficit?
In the PRO-AM class, following a drama-filled race at Long Beach Albeto Alvarez has returned to the top of the standings but is only two points clear of Logan McKinzie. Who out of the pair shall take the cup come the chequered flag?
In the AM class, despite a number of difficulties last week, Daniel Cedeno continues to lead albeit by a reduced margin of six points over rising star Samuel Bernardy. With back-to-back wins, can Bernardy make it three in a row and potentially seize the cup from Cedeno?
