Everything you need to know to make custom transitions in DaVinci Resolve 17+

This video is an introduction to making your own custom Fusion transition presets to use in DaVinci Resolve, the proper way, no 3rd party software, power bins, adjustment layers or other crap. It goes over what a transition file (.setting file) is and where they're stored. It teaches you about AnimCurves, Fusion Expressions and how to edit your node groups with a text editor to unlock the hidden, but very powerful features of Fusion. We use a text editor to make custom controls for our node group in fusion that show up in the edit panel, this makes it very easy for whoever uses the transition to change parameters about it without having to even open fusion.

This is where the transitions are stored on different OS'es (if they arent there already you can just make the folders):
GNU/Linux (built-in): /opt/resolve/Fusion/Templates/Templates.drfx
GNU/Linux: ~/.local/share/DaVinciResolve/Fusion/Templates/Edit/Transitions/
Windows: %appdata%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Transitions
MacOS: Library\Application Support\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Fusion\Templates\Edit \Transitions
