One of the successes of quantum mechanics was explaining why an electron doesn't fall into the nucleus of an atom. But what happens if there are more electrons? This question, often swept under the rug by physicists, led to the development of an entire branch of mathematical physics. During his lecture, Dr. Marcin Napiórkowski will explore the history of this topic and present the most important results related to it.

Dr. Marcin Napiórkowski is a mathematical physicist working in the Department of Mathematical Methods in Physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw. He is currently working on the "Mathematics of a Bose Gas - Dynamics, Correlations, and Fluctuations" grant funded by the National Science Centre under the Sonata Bis program.
