Global Roots Festival 2023 – Recap
Thank you to everyone who came out to support The Cedar's annual beloved free three-day festival!
From September 25th to 27th, 2023 we welcomed five acts to our stage:
Hauntingly beautiful Romanian/Moldovan singer, Ana Everling
Jazz fusion trio, House of Waters, calling on influences from India, Japan, Northern Africa, and Argentina
The irresistibly joyful Madalitso Band, sharing their takes on folk songs from different tribes in Malawi
Massive Ethiopian music and dance powerhouses, Ethiocolor, featuring Melaku Belay
Searing Colombian trio of women percussionists and vocalists, La Perla
Haitian Canadian hip-hop artist, Waahli, blending English, French, and Creole
We loved seeing the return of strong audiences for all three nights; make sure you mark Monday, September 23 to Wednesday, September 25 for this next one! We'll be announcing artists in the coming month.
