Rupak Chatterjee walks through the way CKAN has been configured for Medicines Sans Frontier (MSF) to provide them with a data sharing platform that fits with their existing organisational practices and needs with regard to data collection, team access and sharing.

All the processes are based off the foundational concept note for a project and move forward through to project completion.

Investing in open source software solutions to build for-good projects like the data sharing platform demonstrated here is a natural fit for an organisation like MSF.

CKAN is acknowledged as a Digital Public Good by the Digital Public Goods Alliance, which recognises the qualities of certain projects as both supporting objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals and being governed openly, with public contributions leading to better public goods.
