hi everyone
Here are practical, technician-level repairing tips for Dental Curing Lights (LED / Halogen), explained simply so you can troubleshoot quickly:
✅ **Common Problems & Repair Tips
(Dental LED Curing Lights)**
1️⃣ Device Not Turning On
Possible Causes & Fix
✔ Battery faulty
Check battery voltage using multimeter.
A healthy Li-ion cell = 3.7V–4.2V
If below 3.0V, battery protection circuit locks it; replace battery.
✔ Charging port loose
Re-solder micro-USB / Type-C pins.
Check 5V input reaching charging IC.
✔ Power button failure
Test continuity of switch.
If dead → replace with same size tactile switch.
✔ Charging IC failure
Common chips: TP4056, CN3065
Check for 5V input and 4.2V output.
If no output → replace IC.
2️⃣ LED Not Lightening / Very Weak Light
Causes & Fix
✔ LED Chip Burnt
High-power LED (5W–10W) often fails.
Check forward voltage (usually 3–3.4V).
No voltage or open circuit → replace LED.
✔ Poor Heat Dissipation
Thermal paste dries → LED overheats.
Clean old paste → apply new silicon thermal paste.
✔ Driver Circuit Problem
LED driver must supply constant current (1A–3A).
Check output using multimeter in DC Amp mode.
If 0 current → driver IC or MOSFET faulty.
3️⃣ Light Flickering
Causes
Loose LED connections
Low battery
Driver circuit instability
Damaged inductor or capacitor
Fix
Reflow solder around LED pads.
Replace driver electrolytic capacitor (usually 100µF–470µF, 10V).
Check output coil (inductor) with continuit
5️⃣ Charging Issues
Symptoms
Red light not turning on
Charging but battery not increasing
Heats excessively when charging
