The lymphatic system can be represented as a “circulatory branch” because it is not an independent system and has a one-way direction from the periphery to the heart, where it ultimately connects to the circulatory system. Therefore, the term blood lymph flow is often used. Lymphatic circulation is, as it were, an assistant to the circulatory system for the evacuation of heavy molecules. Both the immune and transport functions of lymph are associated with this, and the osmotic pressure of the lymph is called oncotic. The concept of oncology is also connected with this.
