Weta Bugs are GIANT GIGACHAD CRICKETS!?
Weta Bugs are the gigachads of the bug world. Not only are they giant armor plated crickets with mandibles that can bite through human flesh, they also fight for their female partners, which they keep in harems of up to 8. They are nocturnal, flightless and some of the heaviest insects in the world, with the largest weta, the Giant Weta, weighing up to 3 ounces. The weta bug evolved independently from the cricket living solely in New Zealand into over 100 weta species. Though scary looking, they are mostly herbivores and avoid biting or attacking larger animals like humans and will instead make cricket noises in your direction.
