Please forgive the long announcement at the beginning. But at some point, it's enough. To the "attackers": calm down, and to the calm and concerned community: don't let yourselves be provoked or thrown off balance. That's life. And it will stay that way for now ;).
Let's get to the pleasant part, the weather: I can't understand so many people's "winter's swan song." There will never be 100% certainty with the weather. It's always about probabilities. And the probability of an early winter situation by the beginning of Advent is many times higher than a possible mild variant. What more could winter fans want? A completely disrupted circulation, a blocked Atlantic, etc.? It doesn't get any better than this...
By the way, a word about one of the—I'm afraid I have to say it this way—most stupid comments I've ever heard: "The weather situation can't bring as much cold now because of climate change." This can only come from someone whose name the teacher was happy to see spelled correctly at school.
Climate change means: Now – in a warmer climate – the probability of cold weather is lower than, for example, during the Little Ice Age. A calm weather pattern with various parameters, on the other hand, is the same in every climate epoch because it's all about the weather and radiation. Snow cover, high pressure, and 16 hours of cooling occurred in the 18th and 21st centuries.
