Solo Stealth Bivvy Camp
International Bivvy Bag Day was set up by Ross Moorhouse last year and this year it landed on the 25th February. James still off with a foot injury, Mary set out alone to bivvy camp on the River Avon. The need for Recce-ing a camp spot was a good excuse for a 8 & 1/4 mile hike from the 'OS Malverns to Warwickshire Outstanding Circular Walks' book.
Starting in Bidford-on-Avon, the route crosses field and meadows, passing through Marlcliff and Cleeve Prior, to the villages of North and Middle Littleton. From here a quick climb up onto the ridge followed by a long ridgetop walk back towards Marlcliff. At this point Mary veered off to pop down on to Shakespeare's Avon Way to find a spot to bunk down in overnight. Once back in Bidford, she doubled back to camp along the river edge.

This camp, along with the other 2124 campers worldwide, was to 1. raise awareness of the high numbers of homeless in the UK and 2. to raise awareness for the Save Dartmoor campaign.
