10X10 PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT — ANGEL TORRES INTERVIEWS BRIAN TORNER
The 10X10 Photography Project 2019 organized by James Fowler is Angel Torres' 3rd huge photographic accomplishment in 2019 & perhaps one of the most profound and significant photography series for him and in the thriving LatinX community. This is a series dealing with our ever growing plague of gun violence not only locally in Toronto, but across North America and the globe! This body of work boldly challenges us all to stare in the face of this nightmare we all deal with daily on the news and sometimes in our own personal lives. The answers aren't easy, but it will take courage and honest communication from communities to our leaders in control of laws and justice to work together for greater solutions and considering the 'bigger picture'. This is also the purpose of this project series: to encourage communication between us all, friends, family and political figures in positions of power and law makers to talk candidly, and hopefully come to some greater solutions ie. as in Australia where guns are banned since the 90's, an act which made regular massacres a thing of the past!
