"Lottery" - A play adapted from the short story, by Munshi Premchand - RANG India Day 2017
Presenting a satirical shade of human nature is a work of art, and it is no simple job, indeed. A writer, who hailed from the ‘Uttar Pradesh’ state of India, was one of them who mastered such an art. Munshi Premchand, one of the most renowned writers from the early twentieth century, has written many short stories that talk about the peculiar nature of the human mind, using tools such as irony, humour and wit. We present to you a play, which has its roots in the works of Munshi premchand’s short story. Presenting to you – "Lottery".
