October Snapper
With all this wind around lately, the mornings seem the best chance to get out for a flick to chase the mighty snapper of port phillip bay.
Down to the local for a 6am launch had me onto the fish within a few casts. sounding up a lot of arches I new I would be in for a cracker day.
I managed to hook into a few fish early, then I felt that tiny thump of a bigger specimen which didnt realise he was hooked for about 5 seconds, then it was on for young and old.
I was using my 2-4kg rod paired up with the Diawa BG2000 8lb line and 8lb leader with a 1/10 ned lockz jig head and stinger hook. The bigger models didnt need the stinger as they engulfed the entire jig head.
