WOW Finalist 2024 | Ghersa - Fashion Collection By Naseeb | IIAD
Congratulations to our Fashion Design graduate (Batch 2020–2024), Naseeb Sihag on being one of the finalists for the prestigious World of Wearable Art (WOW) @worldofwearableart Competition.
Weighted around 14 kg Naseeb's garment is made from recycled wrappers which were later twisted and transformed into rope. The edges are finished by metal bullets in caution of any harm on skin by chopped edges of rope.This garment was of Naseeb's major design project collection, "Ghersa".
"Ghersa" by Naseeb is a deeply personal collection that reflects the complex emotions tied to his rural home. The collection pays homage to the resilient and timeless elements that define his home, such as the warmth of the chulha, the sturdy tractor his father drove, the taste of water from a matka, and the ancient peepal tree that stands like a guardian over the land.
The World of Wearable Art, commonly known as WOW, is one of the most renowned international design competitions, drawing designers from over 40 countries to showcase cutting-edge creations that blend art, fashion with performance. Being selected as a finalist in this competition is a true testament to the creative vision and technical skill required to stand out among the world’s most forward-thinking designers.
Mentored by Shipra Kukreja (Associate Professor, Fashion Design), Anupama Datt (Assistant Professor, Fashion Design), and Ginu George (Assistant Professor, Fashion Design), Richa Sood (Assistant Professor, Fashion Design), Dr.Nisaphi L.Lyndem (Lecturer, Fashion Design), Aveek Mitra (Lecturer, Fashion Communication) and Sundeep Ramudamu (Course Leader, Fashion Communication), Naseeb is breaking all barriers and shining with flying colours!
