[OUTDATED; Online Method in Desc.] Four Swords Adventures - Multiplayer Emulation - 2018 Tutorial
This video is pretty outdated now, and I thought I wasn't ever gonna come back to it. I have now made a NEW tutorial that not only works with Dolphin 5.0, it also works ONLINE! I'll be answering questions over there the best I can. For now though, my two most frequent questions have finally been put to bed:

How come my controller won't work unless I'm tabbed into VBA-M? I still have no idea what caused it, but this new method is a million times better AND fixes the glitch. Thank you, Dolphin Emu Devs!

Four Swords is not available for download. You must provide your own copy of the game.
Dolphin
1 Install Dolphin 4.0.x
2 Launch Dolphin
3 Assign Four Swords ROM directory
4 Ensure controller connection by setting port 1 to 'Standard' and clicking refresh in 'Controls'
5 Configure all ports to GBA (for 4 player)
VBA-M
1 Install VBA-M svn947
2 Launch VBA-M
3 Uncheck [ ] Pause when inactive
4 Assign Bios directory to VBA
5 Close VBA-M to save settings
6 Turn on controllers and up to a total of 4 input devices
7 Launch VBA-M
8 Configure which emulators have which controls and their inputs
Repeat steps 6-8 for each instance
Time to Play
1 Launch Dolphin if it is not still open
2 Launch however many VBA-M instances that you want, up to 4 if they are not still open
3 Launch Four Swords Adventures
4 Assign Dolphin controller ports to GBA
5 Player 1 enable JoyBus (even if it is already on)
6 Player 1 Launch Bios
7 Player 2 enable JoyBus (even if it is already on)
8 Player 2 Launch Bios
9 Player 3 enable JoyBus (even if it is already on)
10 Player 3 Launch Bios
11 Player 4 enable JoyBus (even if it is already on)
12 Player 4 Launch Bios
