Clinical Assessment Postpartum
Tips for ensuring optimal conditions for the postpartum examination of a birth laceration. If possible, the woman is positioned in a gynecological chair.
During home visits or during follow-up of the lesion while the woman is hospitalized in the maternity ward, a gynecological chair may not always be available.
In this case, the woman is positioned in a way that still ensures the best possible ergonomic conditions for the healthcare provider and the ability to see and examine the area.
Good focused lighting is important in this regard. This can be a headlamp, for example.
