Professor Simone Strasser discusses belly ache (abdominal pain) in people with advanced liver disease.
If you have liver disease, belly ache might be caused by:
• Ascites (build-up of water in the belly)
• Enlarged liver from fat, alcohol or a tumour
• A blocked vein
Anyone with liver disease who gets really severe belly ache needs to be evaluated either by their GP or in the emergency department.
