In the middle of April 2, 2024, I woke up to a strange email in my inbox. The subject was: "Notification of unilateral termination of the Tradeville contract". In it, I was notified of Tradeville's unilateral termination of the contract corresponding to the relationship between me and the company.
What happens if a broker closes your account
As a general idea, if a broker decides to unilaterally terminate your contract and close your account, it is your responsibility to notify the intermediary or custodian in writing where you want to transfer the financial instruments you hold in the account opened with them.
Fortunately, I opened a trading account with InvestiMENTAL. And I moved all my shares listed on the BVB there.
The next day, I received an email with the Securities Transfer Application attached. I filled it out and sent it to them signed.
Later, I received the Portfolio Statement. So, I uploaded it to the InvestiMENTAL platform to finalize the transfer. And at 16:06 I received a notification that my fund units were successfully added to the new account.
Why did Tradeville close my account?
1. One theory would be that they did an analysis of their clients and saw that I had not been generating any income for them lately. And this happened for several reasons.
2. The second possible explanation would be that a Tradeville employee saw the video from the beginning of the year in which I was presenting what led me to move my shares of companies listed on the BVB to InvestiMENTAL. And he said that this would be the best way to get revenge.
