The elders, especially, say that the Chorro waterfall is "enchanted," claiming that many years ago, on certain dates, such strange sounds could be heard that they caused fear. Others go even further, saying that those sounds were produced by the crystalline waters of the waterfall hitting a large cauldron that came down from the Pongo River, fleeing human greed.
That object was guarded by supernatural beings, each with their own particular characteristics; but... now they say that the enchantment is no longer heard, nor are the guardians seen.
This natural charm that we Girón residents possess was also admired by the patron saint, the Lord of Girón, who, during one of his visits during the Corpus Christi celebrations, transformed it into miraculous waters.
