This video I get into the grit about the May 5 update from Google and its effort to the SmackDown websites that they feel are abusing their policies and I make an example out of forbes.com who’s been dominating results along with many other companies using their high ranking and ability to back link each other with keyword, ranking, while developing authority in topics where they have no business publishing content.
IF YOU DON'T WATCH THIS VIDEO TILL THE END, YOU'LL MISS THE BEST PARTS OF THE ANALYSIS!
I also am telling it like it is because I see a lot of guys out there attempting to analyze what’s going on just based on Google abuse article and guidelines, when in fact, their content production approaches have all collapsed. SEO it’s not just about blog sites or any particular niche versus another being the same. SEO in the real world is a complex game and it makes of local businesses, state, national and global manufacturers and suppliers.
But if you’re gonna talk about forbes.com, then I am going to give you a solid example of how to actually analyze them if they are using their ranking abuse to damage your listings. However, it’s probably pretty unlikely because they exist in another place but you will analyze the website here and to break down some of the pieces so you can analyze your own ecosystem, because at the end of the day, you’ve taken a big hit and it hasn’t been applied to manually, you can still recover in the algorithm, but that’s going to require analyzing your ecosystem which means the top 10 or 20 websites that compete with you based on organic keyword search.
And will also look at this through some fresh perspective and most of the things that people miss when looking at Ahrefs while I give you clues on how to dig deeper into analysis and see the signals that drive traffic.
I also expose a nice slice of forbes.com methodology that anyone could replicate at a smaller scale, regardless if they have heavy ranking power, what really matters is the ecosystem and what you compete and you cannot compare your website to another. They’re both blog sites. They must be competing in the same ecosystem and not always out all of the sites the same. Some blog sites are also competing with e-commerce , or even forum sites.
I hope everyone enjoys this video and gets a valuable lesson and starts to understand and discern who’s really able to analyze and understand SEO, and market trends because it isn’t trying to pretend they’re a trader, or some serious marketer because there’s more to marketing than watching YouTube. Bringing a strong understanding of marketing to any Internet property is critical. It’s not about keyword and it’s not about helpful content either. That’s just a vague broad statement that could be applied to anyone arbitrarily and gives cover to the damage that Google is doing with the machine gun when it’s trying to shoot people it thinks or damaging their system, and they’re really wounding and killing a lot of innocent sites. Even the people they are having little to no impact on the real problems that are going on with their search engine.
