Less power consumption, better weld quality and easier operation—EFD Induction leads the technological develop-ment of induction tube and pipe welding, and has always been at the forefront in developing equipment with the best power-to-volume ratio. The new Compact Weldac, with output power up to 300 kW at 300 kHz, boasts high-efficiency SiC inverters that have allowed for a drastically reduced volume. This small welder measures less than 1300 mm in height, 1500 mm in length and 500 mm in width. The convenient size saves valuable floor space and makes it very easy to install or retrofit into a production line.
At only half the size of its predecessor, this welder has a minimal footprint but has lost none of the Weldacs’ well-known power and high efficiency. On the contrary, it is even more efficient! Utilizing the improved SiC inverter technology gives an impressive 91% efficiency from the mains to the welding coil. That is 6% higher than our existing IGBT based systems and a whopping 35% more than vacuum tube converters.
