ONLY FIRE SHIT V2 : Culture - Rekoil Chafe
"Culture" is the second installment in Rekoil Chafe's barfest series called "Only Fire Shit". While the first drop solidified his comeback into the scene, "Culture" aims at defining his struggles, perspective and goals as an artist.
As Rekoil is proficient in both music production, as well as Rap, he depicts himself as a Cyborg in the first verse and through clever metaphors, showcases his abilities on a oldschool boom bap beat. As the second verse kicks off, Rekoil starts discussing his persona, inspiration and origins, which then quickly switches to a sequence of Hindi bars, where he trolls rappers who think producers and mix engineers are overrated, which is a reflection of his personal experience.
*Since being underpaid is an industry-wide issue*, Rekoil invited some of his other artist friends in the video to support his statements. These includes the Indian Hip-Hop's lyrical giant, GRAVITY (Akshay Poojary) and an amazing artist that has been a notable voice in the queer activism space, ARTWHORING (Priyanka Paul). Both of them can be seen chanting the chorus of the song in video alongside RAPTURE (Sameer Inamdar) who plays the role of a radio host.
“Culture” successfully addresses serious issues that producers and freelancers face through bars, schemes and humorous bits that makes it an entertaining single which will hype you in the first and make you laugh in the next moment.
