DIY RGB Light Bar For Making Cool Shadows
I don't go into technical details but the TLDR is to get a bunch of those neopixel panels from Aliexpress for cheap, then look up any ol' neopixel tutorial for the microcontroller of your choice. I used a raspberry pi pico + circuitpython.
Mine has a handful of modes for different shadow effects, and the ability to change brightness and speed via encoders.
