An afternoon getaway to my favorite spot on the Sonoma Coast. As scorching heat took inland temperatures to 112 degrees and above it seems everyone within a 4 hour drive was looking for a little relief from the cooling breezes of the Sonoma Coast State Park. Even though the temperature at this beach reached 90 degrees (a rarity for what is typically a breezy overcast coastline) it was still much cooler than the heat hitting much of the inland bay area this weekend.
I've never seen as many beachgoers at Portuguese Beach as I saw there today, but I was able to get a few moments of solitude on a small stretch of surf to bring you some hypnotic relaxation, courtesy of the Sonoma County Coast.
The surf was nice, and the water was an amazing bathtub tile blue. It made for a very hypnotic mediation of the ocean's beauty. I'm so glad to make it out to the beach today.
Sorry you couldn't make it out to the coast today Hillary, but hopefully this brief mediation will being you there in spirit.
