Stroke Awareness - BE FAST
To recognize the symptoms of a stroke, we urge people to BE FAST. This means paying attention to a sudden loss of balance, sudden onset visual impairment (eyes), sudden onset facial droop, or a sudden onset of weakness in the arms – any of these can be symptoms of a stroke. Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. If their speech is slurred or they cannot repeat the sentence, call 911.
The “T” in FAST is for time because every minute counts.
