The rental increase rates for February 2024 have been announced! How much will the rent go up this month? The long-awaited February 2024 rent hike data was disclosed alongside January's inflation figures. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers, which influence rent adjustments along with December's inflation reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), are now clear. So, what's the increase in rent for this month? With the release of the eagerly awaited January 2024 inflation data, the rent hike rates for February 2024 have also been revealed.
The February 2024 rent hike, a topic of interest for many, would typically be determined based on the 12-month CPI average. However, due to government restrictions on rent hikes, there will be a 25 percent increase for housing in February.
WHAT IS THE RENT INCREASE RATE FOR FEBRUARY 2024?
In previous years, rent hikes calculated based on CPI data were capped at 25 percent following government regulations.
Accordingly, in lease agreements renewed between June 11, 2022, and July 1, 2024, residential tenants will not face an increase of more than 25 percent. The 25 percent increase limit applies solely to housing. There's no such limitation for workplace rentals. THERE IS NO 25 PERCENT CAP FOR WORKPLACES.
There are no restrictions on rent increase rates for workplaces. The rental increase rate for February 2024 has been set at 54.72 percent. Hence, business owners with expiring leases will impose a maximum increase of 54.72 percent on their rents.
