Faster application development with CakePHP 3.0
CakePHP has come a very long way for its 3.0 version. The core team has put a lot of emphasis on keeping the pragmatism and development speed always as a priority, so we have translated years of personal experience in developing applications into framework features we can all benefit from.
This talk will show how to get from zero to a fully functional, highly customizable application prototype using CakePHP and the Crud plugin. A big part of the presentation will be showcasing the abilities of the new ORM and the capabilities of the framework to do functional-style programming when using the collections library.

I've a web developer for more than 12 years and I'm currently one of the CakePHP lead developers. I've been contributing to the framework since 2009 and I have help lead it through several transformations and modernizations. I've always been attracted by complex problems and elegant solutions and I'm also a relational databases lover in the inside.
Currently I work at Bownty, a young startup that is already Europe's biggest for its market segment. We specialize in delivering to our users timely suggestions on experiences or travels at a discount. Most of the site's architecture is built upon many CakePHP web and cli applications that talk to each other over the network.
