What is an 'exotic' animal?
In some countries and provinces, exotic animals are banned. And, depending on which definition of ‘exotic’ is being used, it could mean that commonly kept pet species are considered illegal without good reason.
The word ‘exotic’ has been tossed around, with some people using it to stop us from keeping certain types of pets. Yet the reasoning behind these campaigns lacks important scientific logic. We think all pet animals should be treated equally, and have the same rules, exotic or not!
