About Kerala Piravi *
Kerala Piravi ( Birth of Kerala), Keralites celebrate this day on November 1. The state was formed on 1st November 1956 after India got independence from British. It's believed that Kerala was formed by Parashuraman, the 6th manifestation of Lord Mahavishnu. According to Hindu tradition, he threw his dismissal (parashu) across the ocean northwards from Kanyakumari to sculpt a land, and the place where the dismissal landed formed Kerala.
