Building Extended Shackles, Modifying Polyurethane Bushings, Fitting Exhaust (78 Firebird Ep.39)
We lifted the suspension of this 1978 Firebird using S10 lift spindles in the front and modified leaf spring packs in the rear, but to get even more we used longer than stock shackles. In this episode we'll build stronger shackles to replace our mock-up ones, make them a bit more narrow by using custom bushings to help the exhaust fit, and get the intermediate pipes back in place to rebuild the exhaust system! There is still more suspension work to do after this, but we are nearly ready to call it “driveable!”
