Tax Time - How I Prep my Taxes
I'll walk you through how I prep my taxes each year.
*I did this example in Google Sheets - but two things I forgot to mention:
Save, Save, Save! As you go along the process
When you export your financial data from websites, usually it exports as .csv - you need to "Save As" .xls in Excel. (If it exports into Numbers (Apple thing), just copy the rows and paste it into Google Sheets, or whatever program you're using).
I call this my "Yearly Lookback" because not only is it good for prepping taxes, it's a great way for me to see any trends on how I'm spending my money and catch any subscriptions that have flown under the radar.
As actors, our income can be pretty inconsistent, so this also a great way for me to understand my average income and expenses for the year.

I recorded this example in Google Sheets, because it's free! :) but, I usually prep my info in Excel. Doesn't matter what you use - either way works fine.
