Leaning on the Everlasting Arms is a hymn published in 1887 with music by Anthony J. Showalter and lyrics by Showalter and Elisha Hoffman. It is most commonly played on the scale of A-flat major.(My version is in the key of F major)
Alan Jackson included it in his 2006 live gospel album Precious Memories.
A very simple short tune made country style by Alan Jackson so I played it on my restored 1963 Fender Telecaster which has a “Country” sound.
