First cup of coffee ☕
Almost every coffee drinker remembers their first cup, but many of us don’t know much about the beans that we brew. Like, did you know coffee is not a bean at all, but is actually the seed of a coffee cherry?
And while coffee is grown in much sunnier places than the Pacific Northwest, since the early 1900s we've been helping shape the global coffee culture.
From Fred G. Meyer (yes that one!) selling coffee from a horse-drawn cart in Portland to the first Starbucks location opening near Pike Place Market in the 70s, and Stumptown opening their first café in an old hair salon in the 90s.... the story of coffee in the PNW is still being written.
