New York's New Airport Terminal

Denmark's Energy Islands

By then, it should be able to connect up to 3 GW of offshore wind to the mainland. The island will also include facilities for energy storage, Power-to-X, and HVDC converters for transmission.
Denmark has been ramping up its national climate commitments, and plans to build energy islands to help reduce its emissions. In addition to generating green electricity, the energy island could also house an electrolysis facility to produce green hydrogen. These islands could be a step towards Denmark becoming carbon-neutral by 2050. The energy islands would also contribute to the European Union's goal of increasing offshore renewable capacity to 300 GW by 2050. By that time, offshore wind could generate enough electricity to power 150 million homes in Europe.
Denmark is a pioneer in offshore wind farming. The government recently announced plans to build an artificial island, 50 miles off the Jutland peninsula, that will house a power plant. The power plant will collect the electricity generated by 200 giant offshore wind turbines. Each turbine will be nearly as tall as the Eiffel Tower and reach to the sea's surface. Eventually, the energy island could produce 6 gigawatts of electricity, enough to power up to 10 million homes.
While this ambitious project isn't cheap, Denmark's government remains optimistic about its plans. The energy island is expected to cost 44-78 billion Danish kroner (USD $7 billion), and it aims to be operational by 2033.
Baihetan Dam
Baihetan Dam is a hydroelectric power project in China. Its 16 independent hydropower-generator units have a total capacity of 25.6 GW, making it one of the world's largest. It is expected to be completed by July 2022. The dam's total installed capacity will surpass that of the entire hydropower industry in the world.
The project is part of China's ambitious west-east power transmission programme. China's power supply needs will be met by the Baihetan hydropower project, which is being developed by CTG. It will feature 16 one-gigawatt hydro-turbine generator units, with the first unit expected to start generating electricity by July 2022.
