The key to successful network printer sharing is to install the necessary drivers on the server, which will then automate the process of distributing them to client PCs. In an ideal world, you'll have a brand new network with all 64/86bit Windows 7 PCs, in which case the normal Windows 2008 drivers will suffice. However, this rarely happens, and you'll almost certainly need to support a mix of 32bit XP and Vista clients as well. The most important thing to remember at this point is that all of the printer's driver version numbers must match, or Windows will refuse to consider them as valid.
