Eutopia (Ep. 14: Lino Zeddies)
Recognizing that the multiple crises we face globally are confronting us with the limits and blind spots of our present systems, structures, and paradigms, we are inviting people in this new series to offer their best visions for thriving, integrally healthy societies of the future -- "eutopias" or planetary wisdom civilizations. How might we better organize and "dwell together"? How might we better integrate with and even optimize our local and global ecologies? What would an integral kosmopolis look like, and what will it take to get there?
In episode 14, LINO ZEDDIES invites us to imagine that we wake up 30 years in the future: what kind of world will we find, if the social-ecological transformation has succeeded, democracy is flourishing, peace and prosperity prevail, the economy is oriented toward the common good, and the climate crisis has been successfully averted? What sorts of institutions, systems, and personal and cultural practices will support such a world? What is possible, if we more broadly implemented the alternative ecological and holistic technologies and approaches that are already in existence? Lino explores these ideas and more in his new book, Utopia 2048, and he introduces us to some of that vision here.
Lino Zeddies, born 1990 in Hannover, Germany, is a self-employed activist for social change. After studying economics, he became involved in the Netzwerk Plurale Ökonomik e.V., Monetative e.V. and in the International Movement for Monetary Reform for reforming the economic, monetary and financial system. In further stages of his life as an organizational consultant, coach and alternative practitioner for psychotherapy, he was engaged with progressive forms of collaboration and decision-making in organizations and with inner transformation. In these years he learned about numerous small and large solutions for a better world which he put together in the book “Utopia 2048,” a novel about a beautiful future, published in April 2020. In winter 2020 he co-founded “Reinventing Society – Center for Real Utopias” to inspire individuals, teams and organizations with positive visions of the future and to support the path of transformation with innovative methods, empowering experiences, and empathic guidance.
