With 4 different programs, 18 adaptive exercises and thousands of levels, this course is suitable for year 1 right through to adults.
Our team will start you on the program that is suitable for your age and reading level, and your program will then adapt to you as you begin to use it.
The Reading Boost program focuses on comprehension, which is the goal of reading.
Other reading programs usually only teach phonics or provide extra reading practice.
And if a student is asked to read silently, they might be looking at the book, but how do you know if they are understanding every word, sentence and paragraph they read?
The Reading Boost is unique as it actively trains students to understand, pay attention to and remember what they read.
Because the exercises are individualised and adaptive, they can help anyone who would like to improve their reading ability, including average and above-average readers who would like to improve their ability to analyse complex words and fine-tune high-level comprehension strategies.
These programs were created by neuroscientists and are backed by research.
You can also improve your writing skills without even picking up a pencil, because the program improves key skills you need to be a good writer.
How can we achieve such good results? One reason why these programs are unique is because they are built to improve cognitive skills such as memory, attention, processing and sequencing. Are some of these skills holding you back from reaching your full potential in the classroom?
At the same time, you will practice real life reading and thinking skills. This is really important for good reading, because there is no point being able to read words if you can’t remember and use that knowledge later.
At the lower levels of the program, you’ll improve your phonemic awareness. This means knowing lots about the sounds that make up words. This is important for good reading and spelling.
Punctuation and capitalisation You’re going to get to practise how to use capitals, full stops, commas, question marks and more.
Word knowledge
You’ll get to practise words you already know and learn new words and their meanings.
Word analysis
You’re going to look at how words are similar and different and how they can be sorted into categories. This helps organise words in your brain so you can find them quickly later.
Sentence and paragraph comprehension
You’ll get to play games that help you remember and get more meaning from things you read.
Comprehension strategies
You’re going to learn and practise tricks you can use to help you understand and remember more.
What do you need to get started? You can choose to use computer OR iPad.
.. Just make sure you are connected to the internet. Every time you answer a question, your program is adapting especially for you, and the program needs the internet to do this.
Each week you will be emailed a weekly summary report so you can track participation and progress.
