Over the last few months, since moving to Japan, I've been working on starting a new series: Made in Japan. Following the success of the original documentary I made back in 2019 ( • MADE IN JAPAN — Ishikawa and Gifu Craftsma... ), this series will focus on visiting various Shokunin (craftsmen) of all sorts of crafts here in Japan. I aim to showcase the attention to detail and quality that is so abundant throughout all of Japan, to express the art in the heart that I'm so passionate about.
This first film is close to my heart as it's based entirely in Osaka, my new home. Following the production of three household items in industrial scenarios, you can watch the manufacture of premium bath towels, a bespoke stainless steel sake cup and a hard-tempered iron frying pan.
