Last Call Cleveland, the oldest sketch comedy group in the history of all time forever, has three amazing weekends coming up at Playhouse Square and they're heading to America's Second Largest Theater District to get the word out!
We're calling these shows "The Frank Jackson Trilogy" which means nothing to anyone, not even us. It's not even like, an inside joke or anything. It's just confusing.
Regardless, that's what it's called and we already made a poster for it so there's no going back.
Just deal with it.
Anyways, each weekend is an entirely different sketch comedy show comprised of sketches, videos, and songs all held loosely together by a paper-thin through-line in an attempt to give it some sort of cohesion.
While it's true that we have performed all of these shows before we have never performed them in this order on these days while each of us weigh what we do right now.
Here's a quick breakdown of each show:
January 17th and 18th:
LAST CALL CLEVELAND SAVES CLEVELAND!
Someone has stolen Cleveland's most prized tourist attraction, The Free Stamp! And without the tourist dollars The Free Stamp brings to the city, Cleveland will have to close if it's not found soon! The city's police force has been eliminated due to budget cutbacks caused by tax revenue being steered towards installing escalators into a billionaire's accursed football stadium. So Mayor Frank Jackson asks the Last Call boys to find The Free Stamp before it's too late! Will they find it in time to save the city?! Who cares?!
January 24th and 25th
LAST CALL CLEVELAND and the LAKE ERIE TIME MACHINE
Mayor Frank Jackson provides the Last Call guys with a time machine built by smart but pretentious Case Western students so that they can go back in time and fix all of the things that went wrong with Cleveland. Will they succeed in their mission and transform Cleveland into a perfect Utopia?! No!
January 31st and February 1st
LAST CALL CLEVELAND VS. THE ASIAN CARP
The fast-approaching Asian Carp are even more dangerous than we all originally believed them to be!. Too much time in the cloudy Cuyahoga River has mutated them into man-eaters and they are now feasting on Cleveland's corpulent citizenry. Mayor Frank Jackson orders the Last Call boys to stop them at any cost! Will they be able to exterminate these monstrous abominations and protect the city they love?! Is this almost over?!
So come to one of these shows. Or come to all three in order to become an official "Last Call Cleveland Cadet" and earn your own Official LCC Decoder Ring! (Not a thing) Bring your family! Bring your friends! Bring some friends of your family who you only know peripherally and have never really connected with.
-Drink specials! (probably)
-Hilarious local stand up comics briefly opening up each show so that it gets everyone to sit the hell down and stop talking so that the important performers can come out!
-Audience participation! (booing)
-Beer Pong and Cornhole! (Still going back and forth with "The Powers That Be" at P-Square about this)
-Back rubs! (If you're offering)
-A Last Call Cleveland merchandise table that we'll stand awkwardly next to after the show while no one approaches us!
-Confused, elderly Redcoats who thought they were volunteering to usher at a real Playhouse Square production and who leave at intermission because we average 2 profane words every 15 seconds.
-These shows have it all!
