This is a the video of the night I wrote "Wait". It was a rainy night in New Orleans back in 2009. I recorded it on my laptop microphone....
"Born from the shadows of the Sirens tongue, cast out of the light and into the warm embrace of darkness, DEAD DAY REVOLUTION is the magic that swirls within your soul!"
A seething, pierced, tattooed neo-punk aggregation, DEAD DAY REVOLUTION is a sonic unleashing devised of lead singer / lead guitarist Mikey Sandoz, drummer Skeeter Joplin, and bass player Cristian Sturba. "Music is what I'm passionate about. If you do the things that inspire you and drive your soul, then life will ultimately be successful and fulfilling."(~Mikey Sandoz, Lead Singer / Lead Guitarist).
The band initially formed in 2009 when Sandoz met Joplin, who had already been pounding out the Los Angeles music circuit: "Tell you what...If I don't play drums I get violent, so give me my drums and an audience, or read about me in the morning news." (~ Skeeter Joplin, Drums). Shortly thereafter, it was when Joplin introduced Sandoz to bass player Cristian Sturba, who had also played with Joplin in two other LA local bands, Vicious Licks and Zankoma, that DDR was born and quickly began to be a large presence in the LA music scene. "It's just like breathing, if you don't breath you die, so if I don't play...." (~Cristian Sturba, Bass). Combined with a relentless show schedule, radio features, appearances, press attention, and a ferocious live show, DDR continues to watch their fan base numbers explode!
Reverbnation's Weekly Featured Artist Review reads: "It rocks, its fresh, and they certainly got our attention. The music of DEAD DAY REVOLUTION will have the same effect on you. Certainly the categories of Label and Management will be filled in and the word "None" will no longer be part of their vocabulary; it will soon change to the band that has everything." "(With) the retro-punk attitude of the Clash, and an intuitive gift for what makes for a catchy riff. Alternating between a taut sensuality and a laconic drone with every syllable. Impressively produced and realized." (~Devon Jackson freelance music journalist for Rolling Stone, Village Voice, Entertainment Weekly.)
Confirmed as REVERB NATION's #8 Band in Los Angeles, DDR continues to write and record with a new album release slated for 2013. The time is now to join the DEAD DAY REVOLUTION against pop music.
