Here's a tutorial on installing Mendeley Desktop on a Debian-based Linux distribution, especially for users of Debian derivatives like Linux Mint, Antix, Ubuntu, and many others, on LibreOffice Linux.

I'm using Mendeley Desktop version 1.19.8 and LibreOffice 25.2. This is the latest version of Mendeley Desktop on my distribution, Debian 12. Some applications may not recognize the Mendeley plugin. Hopefully, this helps.

Summary tutorial for installing Mendeley:
==========================================
Download Mendeley Desktop:
Link: https://www.mendeley.com/autoupdates/...
Extract and open the /bin directory in the mendeley directory.
Edit using nano or a text editor like in the video (don't install directly, as this can corrupt the file. The solution is to re-extract it if it's corrupted).
.
To install, type this:
$ ./install-mendeley-link-handler.sh mendeleydesktop
.
Run using this command:
$ ./mendeleydesktop --no-sandbox
.
NOTE:
For crashes when changing citations, make sure you've specified the --no-sandbox code, either in the terminal or when you create your own shortcut, as this code is necessary to prevent Mendeley from running in a sandboxed state.
