Artist in Residence Love Ssega: Workshop
Love Ssega, founder member of Grammy Award-winning band Clean Bandit and environmental campaigner, is the Philharmonia's Artist in Residence for the 2023/24 season. He's working with 13 Philharmonia musicians to create a piece they will premiere at the Royal Festival Hall in June. Step inside one of their workshop sessions to find out how they are learning from and inspiring each other, and how classical musicians, used to reading from a score, are getting to grips with improvising together. In the words of bassist Owen Nicolaou, 'it's refreshing and it's fun'.
