This time travel takes us to Nuremberg in 1947. Nuremberg, "City of the Nazi Party Rallies" during the Nazi era, was heavily destroyed during World War II. There were intense air raids by the Allies, which left large parts of the city in ruins. According to estimates, about 60-80% of the buildings in the Franconian metropolis were destroyed or damaged.

The reconstruction of Nuremberg began immediately after the end of the war. In 1947, when this film was made, the city still looked like a field of rubble, as most of the buildings were destroyed or badly damaged. There were only a few buildings already rebuilt and the streets were still littered with rubble and debris. There were a number of challenges, such as the lack of building materials and labor, financial difficulties, but also discussions about how the destroyed buildings should be rebuilt, especially in terms of style. Some argued for faithful reconstruction, while others favored a more modern approach. In addition, there was political instability in the early post-war years. Nevertheless, the old trading hub of Nuremberg succeeded in rebuilding itself and becoming a prosperous city once again.
