History of Agra and Fatehpur Sikri :
Agra and Fatehpur Sikri are two historically significant cities located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Agra was founded by the Mughal emperor Sikandar Lodi in the 16th century, but it was during the reign of the Mughal emperor Akbar in the late 16th century that the city became a major cultural and political center. Akbar built several magnificent structures in Agra, including the Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal, which was built as a mausoleum for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Fatehpur Sikri, located just outside of Agra, was also founded by Akbar in the late 16th century as his new capital city. The city was designed to be a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles, and its stunning structures, including the Jama Masjid and the Buland Darwaza, are some of the finest examples of Mughal architecture.
Both Agra and Fatehpur Sikri played an important role in the cultural and political history of India during the Mughal era. Today, these cities are popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors from around the world who come to admire their rich cultural heritage and stunning architecture.
