This year, Anime Boston decided to introduce a new category, Commercials/Trailers and I am so glad they did. In years past, the commercial/trailer AMVs would have been put into the Other category and I will be honest, this year's Other category was kind of on the weak side, besides for The Absolution Flies On. Would this still have been Best of Show? Absolutely. I also believe The Absolution Flies On would have won the Other category as well. What would have suffered though were the others in both categories.
Back to this AMV, the video was superbly done, matching a quite hilarious trailer audio of Deadpool to One Punch Man. Now as I said in Singular Strike Gentleman, I have not seen the anime so any inside jokes would have been missed. However, the jokes used in here were on the broader spectrum which resulted in a more inclusive AMV. The scenes, cuts, and transition all helped in making this a truly entertaining video to watch.
Last but not least is something that, for me anyway, is something that makes One Punch Man unique, the faces. In several cases of the AMV, the faces used are so out of place to the audio that it makes the scene more hilarious than it really is. All in all, this was truly a spectacular AMV and definitely deserves Best of Show.
