24 Hours for the ENTIRE Fishing Season? (South Atlantic Red Snapper)
One day (24 hours) was the entirety of the red snapper season in South Atlantic waters for 2024. Meanwhile, in the Gulf of Mexico, the season stretches a staggering 103 days. Ryan Morie and Tyler Wald took up the challenge of that 24-hour window and headed offshore in their Mako 214CC. Armed with a livewell full of croakers, the team set out in the early morning hours, hoping to avoid the chaos of others eager to capitalize on the short season.
Tyler started the day with his first cobia. It wasn’t long before plenty of other fish were fired up, and the pair had their hands full. The Garmin MFD was marking fish at each spot, and after some adjustments to beef up their tackle, Ryan and Tyler quickly reached their limit of red snapper. With plenty of daylight to burn, they decided to run inshore and target snook. After catching and releasing several over-slot fish, the team called it a day once goliath grouper crashed the party.
