Baduy Heirloom Stolen
The Baduy people once lost two sacred heirlooms: a sacred cup and a five-edged kujang. Both were stolen from Sasaka Domas, a sacred site in the forbidden forest, believed to be the descent point of Batara Cikal, the ancestor of the Urang Kanekes.
The two sacred Baduy heirlooms disappeared in early 1980 and 1989, respectively. To this day, they have not been found. The theft is suspected to be a highly knowledgeable figure, involving a general. Tempo Magazine also reported the theft of these ancient objects, but no further action was taken.
